This day trip from Marrakech to Ouarzazate is one of the most popular ones among tourists in Morocco, since it includes a visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.
Our one day tour begins by leaving Marrakech and going on a road trip through the High Atlas Mountains, before getting to our first destination: the city of Ouarzazate. Ouarzazate, also called “The Hollywood of Morocco”, is home to Morocco’s largest film studios, which helped produce some important international movies.
Not far from the city of Ouarzazate is located one of Morocco’s most important historical monuments: the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This Kasbah holds great value in filmmaking history, since it is backdrop where many historical movies were made, such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and Kingdom of Heaven. The Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is also a UNESCO world heritage site.
Finally, we will pay a short visit to the nearby Taourirt Kasbah, before heading back to Marrakech in the evening.
