Itinerary

Day 1: Fes – Middle Atlas – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Depart from Fes and head into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known for its tidy streets and European-style architecture. Continue to the nearby cedar forests to spot Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.
After a lunch stop in Midelt, travel through the scenic Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves and small villages. Pause at viewpoints to admire the striking contrast between greenery and desert landscapes.
By late afternoon, arrive at the edge of the Sahara, where camels await. Take a sunset camel trek across the dunes and reach your desert camp for a traditional dinner and overnight stay beneath a star-filled sky.

Day 2: Merzouga – Erfoud – Tinghir – Boumalne Dades

Witness a magical sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Return by camel to meet your driver and continue north. Stop in Erfoud, famous for fossil workshops and stone craftsmanship, before traveling through desert villages toward Tinghir.
Visit the impressive Todra Gorge, where towering cliffs rise dramatically above a river, offering one of Morocco’s most scenic natural landscapes. In the afternoon, journey through the Dades Valley, known for its winding roads and rock formations, before arriving at Boumalne Dades for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Boumalne Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, travel through the fragrant Rose Valley, a region famous for its rose cultivation and spring festival. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert and Morocco’s film capital.
Visit Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore its fortified village, famous for its earthen architecture and appearances in international films. After a brief stop in Ouarzazate, ascend the High Atlas Mountains, passing through Berber villages and scenic mountain passes. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening, completing your 3-day desert adventure.
