Itinerary

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forests – Middle Atlas – Merzouga Desert

Depart from Fes and drive south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known for its clean streets and alpine-style architecture. Continue to Azrou to explore cedar forests where Barbary macaques roam freely. Cross scenic mountain passes overlooking the Ziz Valley, with its palm groves and desert villages. Along the way, visit a fossil workshop and learn about this ancient craft. Arrive at the Erg Chebbi dunes in the evening for dinner and traditional music, introducing you to the desert atmosphere.

Day 2: Merzouga Area – Desert Exploration – Nomads – Camel Trek – Desert Camp

After breakfast, embark on an off-road 4×4 desert excursion, exploring old mining sites and natural landscapes. Visit local nomadic families, share mint tea, and learn about their daily life. Head to Khamlia Village to experience traditional Gnawa music and rhythms. After lunch, enjoy a walk through the palm groves before a late-afternoon camel trek across the dunes. Arrive at your desert camp for dinner, live music, and a night under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, depart by camel and continue westward. Stop in Rissani to explore its traditional market, then Erfoud to visit fossil workshops. Travel through palm-filled valleys and desert villages, stopping for lunch before arriving at the impressive Todra Gorge. Walk along the canyon and admire its towering cliffs. Continue to the Dades Valley, with scenic stops for photography and to appreciate the unique rock formations.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

 After breakfast, drive through the fragrant Rose Valley, famous for its traditional rose products and seasonal festivals. Continue through palm oases to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert” and famous for film locations. Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with iconic earthen architecture. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via scenic passes, stopping for photos and lunch, before descending to Marrakech for drop-off at your chosen location.
